Dear colleagues,
we are pleased to welcome you to the 31st International Symposium Animal Science Days 2023 (ASD 2023), which will be held in Lipica, Slovenia, September 20-22, 2023. The conference will feature keynote speakers, insightful presentations selected from participants’ contributions, on-site poster sessions, and an exhibition. This year’s programme includes a session on ethology and animal welfare, which will also be the topic of the course on September 19.
The ASD Symposium is an annual meeting place for the exchange of experiences and achievements among PhD students, scientists, researchers and stakeholders in the field of animal production. It was launched in 1993 and aims to improve research in animal science in the partner countries of Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Slovakia, and Slovenia. The platform, which connects eight universities and researchers from related research institutes in the field of animal sciences, enables the exchange of ideas and opens up opportunities for efficient cooperation. We would also like to focus on promoting the new generation of young researchers, scientists and experts and hope to facilitate their further cooperation. This goal will also be supported by the organisation of courses prior to the symposium.
The impact of this regional meeting of researchers and faculty members from eight universities was also recognized by the European Federation for Animal Science (EAAP), whose goal is to improve knowledge and dissemination of research results in farm animal science. Therefore, ASD2023 is organized under the patronage of the EAAP.
